Methodology

What the grade measures

The composite is regular-season-only. Each component first ranks the 12 managers against one another, then converts that league percentile to a school-style curved score from 55 to 100 before the weighted composite is calculated. That means sixth in scoring is roughly a B-/C+ range rather than an F simply because sixth place is near the 50th percentile.

30%Scoring

Regular-season points scored relative to the league.

25%Underlying strength

Expected wins from regular-season all-play results.

20%Lineup management

Regular-season actual starter points divided by retrospective optimal legal lineup points.

15%Projection performance

Performance versus projection after league-wide weekly projection error.

10%Bench management

Regular-season average points left between actual and optimal legal lineups; lower is better.

Potential lineup flip: a regular-season loss where the highest-scoring legal lineup available on that captured roster would have beaten the actual opponent. It is retrospective context only and is not a separate Report Card grade component.
